No alcohol today

In commemoration of the patriotic gesture of January 9, 1964, Panama City’s Mayor’s Office has ordered the suspension of the consumption and sale of alcoholic beverages in supermarkets, bars, canteens, clubs, as well as the use of juke boxes, the performance by orchestras, and other outlets of cheerful music. The prohibition runs from midnight on Thursday to midnight today. Those in violation of the measure will be fined between $100 - $1000.
