GASOLINE
Another price hike
PANAMA. An increase in the price of gasoline will be effective from Saturday May 9 and include jumps of three cents per gallon on 91 and 95 octane gasoline.
The Consumer Protection Authority (ACODECO) said that the new prices will be effective from May 22 also announced a decrease of two cents in light diesel and an increase of three cents in the improved diesel. Under the new table the maximum price that the consumer will pay for the 91 octane one will be $2.37 and the 95 octane will costs $2.61. The cost of light diesel will be $2.04. Increases in the fuel prices are due to an increased demand for fuel in the United States, and the fact that the cost of crude oil has experienced several hikes over the last month, with the price of a barrel rising to over $58.
