More tourists visit Panama

Panama Star PANAMA. The number of people arriving in Panama try increased in April 2009 in comparison to the same period in 2008.
The General Comptroller revealed that 165,785 arrived, of which 139,542 were visitors and the rest were residents.
According to preliminary figures of the Statistical Institute 96,001 tourists visited the country in April alone, 39,597 of them were cruise ships passengers.
The ports of entrance that received the greatest number of arrival were the International Tocumen Airport with 105,466 passengers, Cristobal and Colon 2000 with 39,597 visitors, Paso Canoas with 13,845 entries; Paso Canoas and Balboa and Cristobal with 403 passengers. It is expected that the numbers will fall in coming months.
