Panama Star Warren Templeton, 54, was found guilty of cheating British pensioners and other foreigners living in France's sunny Dordogne region out of their life savings by posing as a financial advisor.
French prosecutors had sought a three-year jail term for Templeton from the court in the southwestern city of Bordeaux, arguing that he had two previous convictions for similar offenses in Britain. Dressed in a pin-striped suit and shiny black shoes, Templeton carefully avoided the gazes of his former "clients" as he left the courtroom with his lawyer.
