Panama Star PANAMA. The Civil Registry has asked Panama City mayor-elect Bosco Ricardo Vallarino for a copy of his US passport, a notarized copy of the naturalization letter with which he obtained his US citizenship or a dated copy of the naturalization certificate expedited by the United States Embassy.
The Civil Registry director, Sharon Dumanoir said that they are waiting for Vallarino’s lawyer to submit the requested material.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Tribunal will not give the mayor-elect his credentials until there is a ruling on the his dual citizenship and whether he was in his rights to run for mayor.
The head of the Electoral Tribunal, Erasmo Pinilla, said there is no deadline to make a decision and that in the case of a ruling against Vallarino, new mayoralty elections would be held.
