Teachers are demanding the resignation of the current minister
Panama Star PANAMA. The Teachers Association of both Panama and Veraguas will present a criminal lawsuit at the Public Ministry based on a list of alleged offences committed by the Education Ministry (MEDUCA) in regard to public contracts.
Professor Juan Ramón Herrera, secretary of the Teachers Association of Veraguas confirmed that the association is demanding the resignation of Salvador Rodriguez, the current minister, after the General Comptroller, Carlos Vallarino stated that MEDUCA is a niche of corruption were many irregularities have been observed. According to the Comptroller, 55 reports have been presented to the Attorney General regarding mismanagement of the the Education Quality and Equity Fund (FECE).
