Lehman arrived in Panama on Friday morning to attend a meeting relating to the contested will that left $50 million to Panamanian poor children.

He was returning to Miami when a policeman forced him out of the plane and took him to the terminal where he was detained from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 a.m. the following day.

When he asked if he was under arrest, the policeman said “no” and he was told that he would stay there until Monday, although there was not a place for him to sleep.

Eventually Victor Crosbie, a lawyer and friend of Lehman, after talking with personnel of the General Attorney’s Office managed to secure his freedom, but no explanation was given about why he was detained in the first place.
