PANAMA. The case concerning the land dispute between Linda and David Gillingham with the Eleta Group has been temporarily suspended by the First District Judge of Bocas del Toro, Manuel Garcia.

The judge together with a group of experts were planning to inspect the farm belonging to the Gillinghams, “Los Monos Botanical Gardens” to define the boundaries of the land.

The land problems for the Gillingham’s started at the beginning of the year when the Eleta Group requested that the boundaries of Los Monos be defined, because according to the deeds of a plot acquired by it, part of the land belonging to the couple was in reality property of the Eleta Group.

Judge Garcia has inspected the Gillingham’s property on six occasions, but he has not yet ruled.

On March 24 the Gillinghams sent a letter to the Supreme Court and the Public Registry requesting the case be reviewed.
