Cab driver turned thief is captured

PANAMA. What does a cab driver do with a gun in one hand and a woman’s purse in the other?

Policemen tried to answer this question before putting an end to Benedicto Morales’ actions.

Morales is a 31 year old cab driver who stole $120 dollars, a cell phone and a purse from his passenger.

He was driving a Chevrolet Spark, Instead of transporting his passenger to her destination he decided to steal her belongings, later abandoning her on First Street at Carrasquilla.

But the 21 year old young woman passenger knew better than to sit and moan for her loss.

She immediately contacted the police and denounced the shameless thief.

The police were perplexed by his actions, managing to capture the evildoer as he drove past the Spanish Association’s street in Hato Pintado.

The cab driver was still carrying the very incriminating purse and other stolen items, which made it easy for the police to recognize this was the man they were looking for.

The passenger victim later identified the perpetrator’s face, confirming to the police that the captured man was indeed the cab driver who decided to play thief instead of offering her the transportation service he was supposed to give to the distraught woman, who was shocked by the experience.
