The National Telecommunications Director of the National Public Services Authority, Manuel Troitiño said that in comparison with other technologies such as the U.S. format Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) and the Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting format (ISDB) of Japan the European Union sent technical personnel to install transmitters to do tests.
“The other formats did not install equipment and only sent information about the systems”, added Troitiño.
A commission formed by the Service Authority, the Technology Secretariat, universities, radio and television stations will present over the next few days a report to the government about the different formats.
