PANAMA. Prison guards may have been involved in the escape of 12 high security prisoners from the La Joyita jail between 7 and 8 o’clock on Saturday night. Seven of the men were incarcerated for homicide, three for aggravated robbery and one for endangering the public health.
Preliminary investigations suggest that bars and the prison fence were cut and that the escapees were armed.
