PANAMA. The inhabitants of the many areas of the capital will have another Saturday without water.

On June 20 the Aqueducts and Sewers Institute (IDAAN) will continue its work to connect the pipelines with the Tinajitas’s tanks.

The water supply will be suspended on Saturday from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The areas that could experience low pressure or would not have any water are Ricardo J. Alfaro, Transistmica, Bethania, Via España, Via Jose Agustin Arango, Chanis, El Romeral, the high parts of Mañanitas, Pedregal and Praderas de San Antonio, and the extreme part of the San Miguelito net will be affected.

To be able to carry out the connection IDAAN will have to close the control valve in the 60 inch aqueduct located near Nuestra Señora de Lourdes in Santa Librada to drain the pipelines until the Tinajitas’s tank.

During the connection works that happened two weeks ago, more than 250,000 Panamanians spent the whole day without water.

The works are part of a project that will build a 10 million gallons tank near Cerro Patacon.
