Doctor Gilberto Real, head of AUPSA, said that the peanut butter products mentioned in the WHO list were subjected to a laboratory analysis in Panama and tested negative for Salmonella. These products are now allowed to be displayed and sold in supermarkets and stores across the country.
Among the products still banned are the Keebler chips cookies cookies peanut butter cups, the Austin Variety Pack cookies and crackers, the optimum energy bar (peanut butter), and the Nature’s Path organic optimum energy bar (cranberry ginger).
Inspections to check that stores are complying with AUPSA measure are ongoing.
