Richard Halliburton was an American explorer, known for having swum the Panama Canal and paying the lowest toll in history. In 1928 Richard Halliburton was undertaken to swim the Panama Canal. The toll that had to pay was 38 cents. Halliburton swim a collective of 16 hours and 35 minutes, taking two days off. Because of the dangers of her journey accompanied Halliburton swim the length of a rowboat, in which he was a policeman, if Halliburton was attacked by some animal. Halliburton rose to fame after swimming the Channel, die several years later at the age of 39, on a voyage from China to San Francisco.
