The National Public Services Authority ASEP (Autoridad Nacional de los Servicios Publicos) said that the electricity rebate should average 4.2 cent per kWH, depending on the supplier. That should reduce the monthly bill between 20 and 25 percent. This year the Fuel Variation Charge will not be included in the bill.

The ASEP asks consumers to forward their complaints about their electricity bills, if they do not agree with the amount they have been charged by their suppliers. For the first semester of 2009, from January 1 to June 30, the government approved $24.4 million to stabilize the average tariff that customers who use up to 500 kWH currently pay.
