Off the cuff

When calls were made during the recent elections for a Knight in Shining Armor to oust both presidential candidates, as people held their noses at what they thought were unenviable choices, Voting against a candidate, rather than for one. But the knight has appeared. Maybe not in shining armor but in well worn shoes of the people, Not wielding a lance but a broom, sweeping dirty secrets into the open, unafraid to challenge the development establishment which has enriched itself many times over during the boom years, but thought it ok to finesse a little bit more, albeit illegally, while the administration but the telescope to a blind eye.

But that era seems to be coming to an end as President Ricardo Martinelli demonstrates that change is possible, while he sends shock waves through so many sectors where corruption has been endemic.

We hope he can keep up the charge, and bring a sense of honor to the country which will in turn improve our standing on the world stage, and generate even more enthusiasm for investment.
