PANAMA. The government announced an initiative that will allow all Panamanians to have access to free Wi-Fi Internet all across the country. The Innovation Secretary, Eduardo E. Jaen told members of the Panamanian Technology Chamber that currently the technical designs are being created and it is expected that the project will be implemented within the first 100 days of the Martinelli Administration.
Jaen said that the Wi-Fi technology will be used to provide Internet service to 10 cities and there will be multiple places such as parks, tourist sites, schools, libraries, universities, hospitals and health centers which will have computers. The project includes the expansion of information platforms such as Info Squares and computer training to the people.
