Former Panamanian President Ricardo Martinelli stormed into the restricted areas of Marcos A. Gelabert Airport in Albrook, an action which according to the Directorate of Civil Aviation (AAC) 'endangered the operations and the security of the area'.

Through a statement, the AAC informed that Martinelli arrived in two non-authorized vehicles and stated that they were part of his team. He headed towards the Office of Aviation Security, where, with bad manners, he requested information about a helicopter that was flying over his residence.

Hours before, the former Head of State tweeted: "A yellow helicopter was flying yesterday during the afternoon over my house for reasons which are unclear to me. It took pictures of my home".

This statement of the ACC also affirms that the former president has a private hangar in the airport, but he doesn't have access to the platform areas.

An investigation will be opened for this case.
