Panama negotiator dies in US

PANAMA. The sudden death of Fernando Eleta Casanova has taken everybody by surprise.

PANAMA. The sudden death of Fernando Eleta Casanova has taken everybody by surprise.

Eleta was found dead at his Washington apartment on Monday.

He was representing Panama as an adjoint representative at the Inter American Development Bank (BID).

Although there is no official confirmation yet, it is presumed, Eleta died of natural causes. He was 56.

BID president said of Eleta “He was a tireless promoter of development in Panama”.

In the nineties, Eleta headed the Central American News Agency (ACAN EFE).

A mass will held in his honor in Washington before his body is brought to Panama.
