Gay couples rushed to marry before Tuesday's election, fearing their right to marry might be eliminated if voters approve Proposition 8, which if passed, would change California's constitution to ban gay marriage. Tuesday's results will show how far attitudes to gay marriage have changed. Florida and Arizona joined California in voting on whether to stop gay marriage.
