PANAMA. A survey conducted by the CID-Gallup Latinoamerica firm, which measures the popularity of presidents in Central America, placed President Martin Torrijos with a 26 percent acceptance rating, just a little above that of President George W. Bush.

The survey’s results place Alvaro Colom from Guatemala at the top, with the Nicaraguan Daniel Ortega at the bottom.

The survey was held in the last trimester of 2008 in the capital cities across Central America and the Dominican Republic.
