Twenty-three ambulances will be providing their services to Panama and San Miguelito, only during Carnavals will they cover areas such as Colon, Capira, Aguadulce and Las Tablas.

Whether you have had a car accident, gun shot wound, heart attack, trauma, or any pathological emergency, the call will be directed to a trained operator, who while on the phone, will upload all of your information onto the computer. Once the emergency and location has been identified, the computer system will automatically emit a protocol signal to the dispatcher ambulance on duty.

Each of the ambulances have three crew members and 170 medical emergency technicians, especially trained by an israeli company.

The injured will transported to Santo Tomas Hospital or any Social Security medical center.

According to the director of the entity, Marta Sandoya, the 911 Emergency System, provided they receive 10 ambulances by June, will be extending their services all the way to Rio Hato.

The idea was suggested a few years back in 2007 by the Club Activo 20-30, however, the money raised for the project, was not enough, realizing Government help was needed to reach their objective.
