The management office of the Omar Park (Via Porras) will close the park on September 27, October 11 and 25, and November 8 and 22 due to fumigation works. The Health Ministry made a recommendation to curb the levels of Aedes Aegypti infestation in the park and has commissioned the Vector Control Department for this work. The Omar park is the largest green urban park in Panama city. It has a 3.5 km foot path, basketball and tennis courts and a soccer field. It is home also to the Ernesto J. Castillero National Library. On regular days the park opens at 4:00 a.m. and closes at 7:00 p.m. Photo: Basilio Acosta.
