The Government leader highly valued Ambassador Lizia’s active contributions to fostering the bilateral ties during her term of office, especially in trade, marine services, agriculture and seafood.

The Ambassador of Panama expressed her deep impression on the land and people of Vietnam and affirmed that in whatever position she holds, she will continue contributing to the relationship between the two countries.

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Panama increased to $300 million in 2008.

The government of Panama is trying to create new commercial ties with the Far and Middle East, as a way to fight the global financial crisis that has affected the traditional markets of Europe and the United States.

Panama’s exports have been suffering as consumers are being more selective with their purchasers.

The Ministry of Commerce is trying to negotiate free trade agreements with different countries to improve trade.
