PANAMÁ. The greatest runway event in Central America is coming to Panama for the 8th time. “Dias de Moda Panama,” Panama Fashion Days, will be held this upcoming week at the Vasco Nuñez de Balboa Convention Center at the Panama Hotel.

The best national and regional designers will showcase their latest collections. Renowned “Top Models” will parade through the most important runways in the region in this event which promises to gather la créme de la créme of the regional fashion industry.

According to organizers, this year Panama Fashion Days will have an inaugural show on September 30 with the famous Spanish designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, who will display her creations to benefit the social projects favored by the office of the first lady, Vivian Fernandez de Torrijos.

On regular show days, which start on October 1, approximately 40 designers will display the latest industry trends. Among the international designers on the runway will be: Lissa Thon and Felix Poll from Puerto Rico, Giselle Matamala from Honduras, Johanna Rubiano from Colombia, Hemerah from Argentina and Kellie McAvoy from the U.S.

National designers will include known names in the Panamanian fashion circles like Sara Bassan, Edda Gonzalez, Heleen Breebaart, Gladys Vallarino and Tovah Mizrachi.
