The American Embassy in Panama welcomed a new addition to the Embassy staff at a reception at the home of Ambassador Barbara Stephenson on Thursday evening.
Debra Heiva has arrived to serve as the Embassy’s political counselor.
She was presented to a room full of distinguished politicians and government representatives.
Hailing from Bolivia, she has served in the US foreign service in Nicaragua, Slovakia, and the Netherlands.
”I hope you consider me as a friend, as I am here to create bridges between our nations”, she said.
