Chiriqui. Plans are underway in David to restore the old footpath that used to link the Jose de Obaldia museum with the Cathedral tower. The footpath will follow the original design and will cost around $92,688. The Historic Patrimony Restoration Committee is also planning to rename the streets in the old town as they were originally called when the city was founded.

Chiriqui. Shortages of fish and the arrival of fishermen from other provinces are having an adverse effect on fishermen in Chiriqui. Osvaldo Grenal, president of the Fishermen’s Association of Pedregal, said that the low cost of fish in the ports and the high cost of fuel was also affecting fishermen’s income and that middle men who sell on their fish to consumers are the ones who are making large profits.
