Tamayo Hernandez was the attorney of the heir to the Valle del Cauca cartel, Juan Carlos Ramirez Abadia.

Abadia, also known as “Chupeta”, was detained on August 2007 in Brazil and extradited to the United States.

His fortune is estimated to be worth over $1.8 billion.

The capture of Tamayo Hernandez was held in a restaurant in Obarrio.

The chief of narcotics of the Public Ministry has started the paperwork in order to deport the drug trafficker to the United States.

Official reports reveal that Tamayo came to Panama a month ago and both the drug prosecutors of the Public Ministry and the narcotics agents of the National Police were after him.

Tamayo Hernandez was his boss’ right arm, and police in different states have been looking for him for over a year, since his boss was captured.

He is wanted by federal authorities in the Unites States for drug-related crimes and murders.

Meanwhile, several busts have also occurred in Colombia, where 39 supposed drug traffickers with links to Panama were captured in Medellin.
