The Panama Diamond Exchange PDE, will become part of a select market and puts it level with similar exchanges such as the ones in the United States, Russia, China or the United Kingdom.
PDE will invest around $200 million in the construction of its headquarters in Punta del Este, that will have the shape of a diamond and will generate approximately 3,000 jobs.
The company aims to supply the regional market with diamonds and precious stones within a commercially regulated framework.
The diamond and jewelry industry around the world generates more than $200 billion and it is expected that the Panamanian will produce $5 billion in revenues.
