The Supreme Court of Justice decided not to admit the lawsuit presented by the lawyer Neftalí Jaén, who was representing a group of residents from the area.

The president of the Supreme Court, Harley Mitchell said that the lawsuit was rejected because the lawyer did not write in his brief the article of the constitution and the rights of the Bethania’s inhabitants that are being violated by the Carnival Board.

The verdict of the court also said that although they could have overlooked this omission, the drafting of the lawsuit revealed that the lawyer did not use the best way and argument to put forward the complaint.

The court added that the celebration of a party or public event is regulated by the Administrative Code.

Meanwhile the Carnival Board has reached an agreement with Bethania’s resident putting in place a series of security measures.
