PANAMA. After a long negotiation meeting between the workers union of Industrias Lacteas, Estrella Azul and the heads of the company, an agreement was reached to put an end to the eight-day strike that has left many supermarkets across the country without milk and other products.

The agreement stipulates a 35 cents per hour raise for workers during the next four years, and recreational, cultural, and investment benefits for the union.

The Minister of Work, in charge of mediating the negotiations, said he was proud of the agreement, achieved with tolerance, intelligence, humility and understanding, to bring back work and social peace to the company and the country.
