PANAMÁ. The H1N1 influenza virus has officially broken the 500-case barrier, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Health.

PANAMÁ. The H1N1 influenza virus has officially broken the 500-case barrier, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Health.

So far, there have been a total of 507 cases of which 313 were children under the age of 15 and 267 were men.

Of the latest cases, one was diagnosed in the Los Santos province of Panama. This was the first case in Los Santos, indicating the movement of the virus. The majority of cases have been in the Panama area.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently declared the H1N1 virus a pandemic and has recommended heavy influenza vaccinations for citizens across the globe.
