The order came after the names of two minors involved in a domestic violence incident were mentioned during a broadcast.

The request was put forward by the children’s lawyer, Alfonso Nuñez, who said that the interests of the minors should be protected while the necessary enquiries are carried out.

Nuñez also requested that the mass media stopped publishing news about the children.

Names and pictures of children cannot be used in the media under Panamanian law, but occasionally newspapers, television and radio station forget the rule and publish them.
