We have been floating with the almighty dollar, and even laundering won’t help if it sinks.
ELECTION FEVER. The second sickness has already reached the Isthmus, and although it is only in the incubation stage, election fever will soon have us in its grip. Look out for many nostrums from the governing doctors, as they seek to maintain control of our bodies.
In the U.S. the fever is reaching the critical stage with the vultures disguised as CNN and Fox talking heads already gathering to tear the flesh from the losers and, after the briefest of honeymoons, from the winners.
What happens in the U.S. is critical to the world, which is why some think we should all be allowed to vote for the U.S (read World) president. Polls indicate that such an election would be a shoo in for Barack Obama, with Germany 85 percent in his favor and France and other European countries hovering not far behind.
In Britain meanwhile, the tumbrels are being readied for the governing Labour Party as the rebels gather to turf out reigning leader Gordon Brown. “Off with his head” has become the rallying cry of the disaffected who, only months ago were celebrating the departure of newly minted socialist multi-millionaire Tony Blair, the Bush poodle. Tony has not shone in his new role as a Mid-east peace envoy.
Now, Britain’s Conservative Party, has adopted the unaccustomed mantel of being less slavish to the US administration. What would Margaret Thatcher say?
Well when election fever is in the air, all sorts of cures are put forward.
