PANAMA. The future for Daniel Delgado Diamante, who has separated himself from the role of Minister of Government and Justice, is not clear.

Panama’s attorney general, Ana Matilde Gomez, said that she has yet to find the supposed file which verifies DDD argument that he was processed and acquitted of the murder of Andres Garcia, which happened on February 8, 1970 in Panama Viejo.

“We don’t have any document that shows that this case passed through justice tribunals” indicated Gomez.

The attorney general did not rule out that soon she could order the former minister to be questioned, despite the fact that the murder was committed 38 years ago.

She did not specify what evidence she would use to question him with.

DDD has not been able to show to the Public Ministry that he was processed and acquitted for the murder of Garcia.

The former minister submitted the police report which details how the events occurred that Sunday afternoon, which fell during the carnival.

A judicial source confirmed that two witnesses have been called to give declarations in the sub-secretary of the Public Ministry, currently headed by Kenial Porcell.

Among the expected declarations are those of the deceased’s family.
