His remarks were made in an interview with an Italian newspaper, Il Giornale, which is owned by Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi.
During the interview, Martinelli also said that the planned metro for the capital city will be constructed by an Italian company. This raised some eyebrows since no official announcement has yet been made. Martinelli later said that Il Giornale had misinterpreted his comments.
