PANAMA. Life may soon be me a lot easier for foreign investors to Panama.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MICI) is currently fine-tuning a project to set up a “one stop shop” to provide information to those looking to start businesses in the isthmus.
The viceminister for external trade, Jose Domingo Arias, said in an interview with La Estrella that the idea is to “de-bureaucratize” the process and make it simpler for investors to know how to put their plans into practice.
He said that specialists in investment, technology, energy, education, and transport, among others, will be available within the MICI to assist potential investors.
Arias said that the new office will also highlight areas of potential investment that may be of interest to foreign companies and individuals.
We‘ll even have specialists who speak Mandarin, Cantones and English,” he said.
