PANAMA. A passenger from Panama was caught entering Malta carrying over 2 kilos of cocaine, on Wednesday late evening according to Maltese newspapers.

In a press statement issued by the Customs Department it was stated that the 30-year-old man of Panamanian nationality arrived at the Malta International Airport from Brussels.

The man was carrying two suitcases which were x-rayed. Following an intensive search in one of these suitcases, Customs officials in its bottom found a packet wrapped in aluminum foil and a plastic bag containing white powder.

When asked about the hidden packet, the passenger replied that he did not know about it. The Customs officials informed the police who are investigating.
