The Minister of Public Works, Benjamin Colamarco presented a document to president Martin Torrijos showing that $1.8 billion has been invested in projects such as the Coastal Strip, the Panama-Colon highway, the second phase of the North Corridor, the widening of the Panamerican highway and the rehabilitation of the Americas bridge structure.

Colamarco announced that the Coastal Strip project and the New road network in the capital city are expected to be finished in June, which is a month behind what was previously announced.

The Minister said in the past that the roads infrastructure has been neglected for a very long time and that was the reason why it has taken so long to repair and carry out projects that will help to solve the traffic congestion problems in the main arteries of the capital city.

The document was given to Torrijos during a ceremony at the Coastal Strip, in which he also proceeded to plant native species trees.
