Biodiversity museum going up

AMADOR. The construction of the Biodiversity Museum on Amador Causeway is almost three-quarters complete.

Designed by Canadian born Frank Gehry, it is probably the most unusual building going up in Panama and initially gave some headaches to construction workers who had never had to deliberately build leaning walls, roofs at all angles, multiple ramps, arches and other unusual structures.

Some workers had to go overseas to learn new techniques to allow the architectural design to be created. When finished in 2010, the biodiversity museum will have 8 galleries, 6 aquariums, a botanical garden and a projection room.
