NEW YORK. The New York Yankees’ Panamanian closer Mariano Rivera finished off his team’s 4-2 victory over the ChicagoSox on Monday , and notched the 479th save of his career, which started with the Yankees in 1995, surpassing Lee Smith for second on baseball's all-time saves list. It was also Rivera’s 36th save in 37 opportunities this season. See story page 4.
