SINGAPORE.

World number four Padraig Harrington handed the Singapore Open a boost Tuesday by confirming he will play the event this year, joining Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Adam Scott in a stellar field.

The in-form Irishman, a three-time major winner, will make his Singapore debut at the five-million-dollar event from November 13-16 at Sentosa Golf Club, organisers said.

Harrington has a solid record in Asia, having won the 2003 Asian Open, the 2004 Hong Kong Open and the Dunlop Phoenix in Japan in 2006.

Argentina's Angel Cabrera is the defending champion in Singapore.
