The Immigration Service director, Clovis Sinisterra said there is confusion among the foreigners processing their legal status in Panama, with respect to the payment of identification cards, fines and so on.

Although they have presented their request before the implementation of the new decree law, they will have to pay the new rates.

Last August the prices of residency and other transactions went up considerably and the requirements also changed, in an effort made by the government to modernize the immigration system.
