After staging their protests for over two hours the way was opened again, but the thousands of people that utilize the medical services of CSS were unable to collect laboratory results, X-Rays and carry out financial transactions.
The protestors are unhappy with their present salary and are demanding a pay rise of at least $100.
Similar types of protests took place in the different parts of the country, paralyzing activities within the clinics and hospitals of the CSS.
The CSS general director Rene Luciani requested a meeting with the protestors´ representatives, but no agreement has been reached, so protests are expected to continue.
