Although the testament of Lucom is still at the Cassation Court awaiting for a verdict, the charities decided to form the Panama’s Support for the Poor Children Foundation (Fundación Para el Apoyo de los Niños Pobres en Panamá).

The first president of the foundation will be Sor Lourdes Reiss from the San Jose de Malambo Orphanage.

The executor of Lucom, Richard Lehman said that “there are many people who do not want to honor the last wishes of Mr. Lucom, but the will is clear and solid, even though some individuals have tried to intimidate me and make me the focus of their rage, they will not prevail. With the creation of the new foundation they will not be able to use me as an excuse and I can step down.”

Sor Lourdes said that one of the objectives of the new organization is to support any group or person that will conceive viable programs that will follow the Lucom ideals. “We trust in Panamanian justice and hopefully the matter will be resolved soon.”
