PANAMA. The voluntary and professional firemen organized a march to protest against a new law that according to firefighters will destroy the autonomy of the department.
One of the main complaints of the volunteer and professional firemen is the lack of equipment and other facilities that will allow them to carry out their job properly.
The firefighters and their families marched carryings torches and wearing blue and red shirts.
The march started at the Ricardo Arango station at 6:00 p.m. and went all the way to the Presidency through Calidonia and Central Avenue.
The firemen starting negotiations with the Minister of Government and Justice, Dilio Arcia, but they did not progress.
