PANAMA. Indigenous groups from all over the country organized a march to demand the ratification of an international agreement that comprises all the rights of the indigenous which have been already recognized by the Panamanian State.

Indigenous groups leaders are saying that Panama is the only country that has not ratified Convention 169 of the International Labor Organization, although it has seven indigenous groups and five Indian regions.

The agreement guarantees that indigenous groups will have better work conditions allowing them to get out of the poverty trap.

More than 500 people marched towards the Presidency to put forward their petition and ask for justice to be done.
