PANAMA. The Civil Aero-naval Authority (AAC) has approved the project “Panama 2010” whose aim is expand the Enrique Malek Airport, in David, Chiriqui province; the Enrique Jimenez, facility in the Colon province and the construction of another air terminal in the central region that could be located in Rio Hato or a nearby area. The meeting that took place at the Ministry of Government and Justice, with members of the Air-Naval that included the Ministry of Government and Justice, Jose Raul Mulino and Ministry of Economy and Finance, Alberto Vallarino sought to implement the promises made by President Ricardo Martinelli to modernize the country’s airports.

The government also agreed to give $4.3 billion to the AAC to implement the modernization program. At the next meeting the board will discuss tariff thecraft stored at Albrook will have to pay.
