The electricity companies have already scheduled a reduction of four percent by July, but after further negotiations with the government it was agreed that they will reduce it by 10 percent from September.
The electricity companies customers were confused because they were expecting the reduction in the July/August bill.
The government maintains a policy to subsidize clients that consume up to 500 kwh.
Panama has the most expensive electricity tariff of Central America.
