A look back on two Star years

During the brief life of the reborn Panama Star there were many events that significantly affected the lives of our readers.

The most obvious was the contruction of the Cinta Costera (Costal Strip) which started two months after the return, and was completed two months before its demise.

Perhaps the most joyful event was the celebration of Panama’s first Olympic Gold, by Irving Saladino.

The building boom reached its peak during the same period, with not everyone pleased at the rapid growth of high rises.

Another high riser was newly elected President Ricardo Martinelli.
